Am I eligible?
To be eligible to enter the program candidates must have a high school diploma or the equivalent to a German Abitur.
Do I have to travel to Berlin in order to submit my portfolio and attend the intake interview?
Not necessarily, for remote applicants we offer the opportunity to have a Skype interview and to send their portfolio online along with their application documents.
When should I send in my application?
The deadline is May 15th annually. Applications sent in after the deadline will be considered when capacity allows.

What should I include in my portfolio?
Once an appointment for an interview has bin fixed you will receive a portfolio assignment, which you should complete and turn in within a period of 4 weeks.
In addition to the portfolio assignment, portfolio should include at least five additional work samples such as sewing, photography, or illustrations.
Digital portfolios are to be submitted as a PDF fie. In case the PDF file exceeds the size limit of an Email you can upload the file on WeTransfer or Dropbox and send us the download link.
Does ESMOD offer preparation classes?
ESMOD Berlin offers summer courses in Fashion Illustration as well as Pattern Making and Draping. The course description, dates and prices can be found on our website.
Which level of English is required in order to study the English-taught course?
Applicants are required to demonstrate their language ability with either a TOFEL or IELTS test. The English Niveau should be B2 or higher according to European Standards. For more information please visit the website of your test institution.
I applied for the English program, do I need to supply proof of my German skills?
Which level of German is required in order to study the German-taught course?
Unless you are a native German who completed your high school graduation in Germany you are required to prove a German Niveau of B2.
